De Eemhof Village has a slightly different feel from the other Center Parcs villages. The whole village is interspersed with waterways rather than having just one or two distinct lakes. There is no central Market Dome with restaurants and shops inside, but this village still offers all the usual water and land activities as well as a brilliant Aqua Mundo. Big families have a really good selection of accommodation to choose from including cottages, boathouses on Lake Eemmeer and apartments overlooking the water.

There are loads of water activities at De Eemhof including sailing, windsurfing, canoe hire and even a banana boat. Those without sea-legs might prefer to try out some archery or the climbing walls in the Action Factory. Kids will love the bungee trampolines, driving their own Safari Cars, and meeting the animals at the farm. Various day trips operate from the village such as a boat trip to the nearby town of Spakenburg where many women still wear traditional dress.

Eurostar from London St. Pancras International Station
- I wouldn’t recommend taking the Eurostar as all onward journeys include several transfers.
Flying from UK Airport
- To Amsterdam Schiphol Airport – all public transport routes from the airport include several changes and walking transfers. A taxi straight to the village takes around 45 minutes.
Looking for a village with a more traditional Center Parcs vibe? De Kempervennen Village near the Belgian border might be just the place.
Useful Resources When Driving in France, Belgium and Netherlands
All distances have been taken from Google Maps. Journey times will vary depending on the time/day you travel and any unforeseen events such as accidents or roadworks. Whether you opt for planes, trains or ferries, remember to allow 1-2 hours for check-in and boarding each way.
Many countries are bringing in more and more ULEZ zones, which can make journeys difficult if your big old family car is non-compliant. Even cars that are compliant have to be registered to be allowed in these zones. This all gets pretty complicated, so it’s best to just avoid the relevant areas. Google Maps will often take you straight through a ULEZ zone without offering an alternative route, so make adjustments to your route before you set off if necessary. Visit drive2.city for up-to-date information on ULEZ zones in the UK and the rest of Europe.
