Davy Crockett Ranch is a great option for big families looking for self-catering accommodation at Disneyland Paris. Located a short drive from the Parks, families stay in cabins with 2 bedrooms and a central kitchen/living area as well as a patio with a BBQ and picnic table. Kids will love the swimming pool with water slide, whirlpool and waterfall while parents might prefer to chill out in the jacuzzi. With an outdoor play area, mini-golf course and indoor tennis court, Davy Crockett Ranch is popular with families who don’t want to spend all day every day in the Parks, and who have a fun swimming pool high of their list of must-haves.

Davy Crockett Ranch is a good choice for big families who have a smaller budget, but still want the Disney experience. Those who prefer a slower start to the day or would rather take a packed lunch than spend lots of money on food should consider this great self-catering option at Disneyland Paris. There is a buffet restaurant and a bar onsite if you don’t fancy cooking, and you still have the option of purchasing a dining plan for eating in the Parks, Disney Village and the onsite Disney hotels. Some cabins can have a dog staying, although only assistance dogs are allowed in the Parks. Check out the rules about taking dogs to France as these have changed since Brexit.
Pros and Cons of Staying at Davy Crockett Ranch
When we stayed at Davy Crockett Ranch, we found that there were definitely pros and cons to this type of accommodation. The cabins were quite basic, and were more like static caravans than cabins. The room where the children slept had three single beds and a truckle (roll-out) bed, which meant it was very crowded. There wasn’t really any floor space with all the beds in the room. But, our kids loved the swimming pool, and would have stayed there all day given the chance. Although there is no longer a shuttle bus, we found that driving to and from the Parks was easy. The self-catering facilities are basic, but okay for breakfast and making lunches. We decided to self-cater for some meals and eat out for others. The buffet restaurant at Davy Crockett Ranch was one of the better buffet options at Disneyland Paris with plenty of choice and freshly cooked food.
Personally, I like staying at an onsite hotel and being able to walk to the Parks. I also love the luxury of the higher-end Disney hotels. Davy Crockett Ranch just didn’t do it for me, although the rest of my family thought it was fine. However, if your budget dictates that you either stay at Davy Crockett Ranch or in non-Disney accommodation, I would say that staying here is the better option. You’ll get several of the perks that you get at the hotels such as tickets to the Parks included, Extra Magic Hours and free parking at the Parks. And it is still Disney after all, which is a big plus in my book.
