Les Landes de Gascogne Village is the most recent addition to the Center Parcs family in Europe. Although it’s a bit of a trek from any of the French ports, you could do some sightseeing on the way there and back with at least one overnight stop each way. Alternatively, catch the overnight ferry from Portmouth or Rosslare to Bilbao in the north of Spain. From there, it’s just under a 4 hour drive, which feels a lot more manageable.

Even though this Center Parcs village is one of the furthest from the UK, it’s a great choice if you’re looking for some warmth as it’s pretty far south. The area is very rural, but you’re not far from the nearby town of Casteljaloux where you will find restaurants and a small selection of supermarkets. Les Landes de Gascogne Village has plenty of activities on offer including archery, high ropes and an inflatable assault course on the lake. With a farm, an indoor soft play area and a great swimming pool, you might prefer to stay onsite and just chill out.
Top Tip: Taking little ones to Center Parcs? A bike trailer is the perfect way to transport them around the village.

Useful Resources When Driving in France, Belgium and Netherlands
All distances have been taken from Google Maps. Journey times will vary depending on the time/day you travel and any unforeseen events such as accidents or roadworks. Whether you opt for planes, trains or ferries, remember to allow 1-2 hours for check-in and boarding each way.
Many countries are bringing in more and more ULEZ zones, which can make journeys difficult if your big old family car is non-compliant. Even cars that are compliant have to be registered to be allowed in these zones. This all gets pretty complicated, so it’s best to just avoid the relevant areas. Google Maps will often take you straight through a ULEZ zone without offering an alternative route, so make adjustments to your route before you set off if necessary. Visit drive2.city for up-to-date information on ULEZ zones in the UK and the rest of Europe.
