YHA Sheringham: A Family-Friendly Coastal Escape in Norfolk

This summer, I visited YHA Sheringham with two of my girls, and we were completely charmed by this delightful seaside town. With its mix of beaches, shops, and family-friendly activities, it’s a perfect getaway for families looking for budget-friendly adventures.

Why YHA Sheringham is Perfect for Families
Location
YHA Sheringham is just a ten-minute walk from the town centre and beach, making it easy to explore without a car. There are plenty of local shops and eateries, and if you’re on a tighter budget, the nearby Tesco makes self-catering simple. We did a mix of fish and chips on the beach and home-cooked meals in the hostel kitchen – a perfect balance!

The beach is just 10 minutes from the hostel and perfect for families. Lifeguards are on duty May to September – swim between the flags on the far right when facing the sea. Even in busy summer months, the beach feels spacious and uncrowded.

We’re huge fans of Treasure Trails, which are treasure hunts around local areas. Great for kids aged 10+ (website says 6+, but realistically older kids enjoy it more). You can even pay with Tesco Clubcard points!
